Vegan Sweeties

24 August, 2007 by halfpintpixie

I miss sweeties, specifically the chewy gummy wine gums of my youth! It’s hard to find sweets without gelatine, and even harder to find ones without gelatine that are nice! So I have to let you all know about these….

wine gumsBiona Organic Tutti Frutti Wine Gums
Ingredients: Corn syrup, corn starch, agave concentrate, natural aroma: blackcurrant / raspberry / apple / tropical / orange / natural fruit & vegetable extract: paprika / tumeric / spinach / aroma juice concentrate, pectin, citric acid, coating agent: carnaubawax.

These are very yummy, as far as I remember they are very similar to the texture of wine gums, I must get a non-veggie type to texture test for me! They’re very sweet and very addictive, available from veganstore.co.uk and my local supermarket, for some reason!

cola bottlesBiona Organic Cola Bottles
Ingredients: Corn syrup, corn starch, grapejuice concentrate, decaffeinated cola, natural flavouring (from: lemon juice, lime juice, nutmeg oil, cinnamon oil), pectin, citric acid, malt extract, carnaubawax.

Very like the Cola bottles of old. Now if only they were fizzy! Get them at my local healthfood store or veganstore.co.uk

choc beansWhizzers Chocolate Beans
Ingredients: Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Cocoa butter, Glucose sryup, Emulsifier (soya lecithin), Gum Acacia, Carnuaba Wax, Vanilla Flavouring, Natural colourings (turmeric extract, copper Chlorophyll Extract, Caramelised Sugar Syrup, Beetroot juice)

Like smarties, only with a harder shell (watch your teeth!), available from the lovely folk at my local supermarket and veganstore.co.uk

Another benefit is that none of these sweets are made by Nestle! Click here to read more information on the Nestle Boycott…

What are your favourite vegan sweeties? ….

One of them is sesame bars made with date syrup, i just can’t get enough of them, also good for increasing the milk supply ;)
I also love vegan coconut dark chocolate and though not too sweet, I love a cup of coffee (decaf) and nakd cacao loco.

Isil, I was never a coffee drinker before, but my treat now is to have a decaf soya cappuchino with hazelnut syrup, oh it’s soooo good!
