I joined Baby Milk Action last week, I figured that I read their blog every day and support their work, so it was about time I contributed!
I’ve been boycotting Nestle since my college days, it’s harder than it seems, they have their finger in every pie.
I realised today while browsing through my Baby Milk Action membership pack that I’ve never actually sent a complaint to Nestle.
So, today I will send a letter of complaint their way. A real letter, one they’ll have to open & read, not an email that will go straight to a junk folder.
Will it make a difference? Maybe not, but if everyone did it, it might!
If you are wondering what I’m on about, read more on the Nestle boycott here…
Marketing practices that undermine breastfeeding are potentially hazardous wherever they are pursued: in the developing world, WHO estimates that some 1.5 million children die each year because they are not adequately breastfed. These facts are not in dispute. UNICEF

I also started boycotting Nestle when in college for the reasons given above. Once I’ve got my exam out of the way, I’m going to be writing to Nestle complaining about their support of the Burma regime and their continued agressive marketing in developing countries which defies WHO guidelines on infant nutrition.
writing a real letter is a good idea. they HAVE TO read it
