My lovely new Soft Structured Carrier (SSC) arrived yesterday from Close2You. They only make a few copies of each design so I was delighted to get my first choice… brown paisley with pink flowers!
I was so excited I managed my very first unassisted back carry (standing beside a bed, in front of a mirror).
Littlepixie loved it, she sat there happily chatting to herself while I cooked dinner. I hung one of my nursing necklaces off the strap to keep little hands out of mama’s hair!
SSC’s are like a Mei Tei, only there’s no tying involved, you buckle the waist band and the arms are like a backpack.
Here’s a video on YouTube showing how to do a backcarry in an SSC (She has an Ergo, but you get the idea!)

Beautiful!
Do you find nursing necklaces really useful?I am considering to buy one but I am not sure.Defne is still scratching her cheek when sleepy, also sometimes whilst nursing.Do you think this might help?
I love the fabric! What a nice choice.
That looks really comfortable. I loved wearing my babies, but never tried one of those type of carriers.
Isil, I do find them useful, I tend to attach one to any sling I’m wearing for littlepixie to play with, or if she’s in the buggy I loop one through the strap so it can’t fall out. I have been known to use them while nursing too but these days they tend to be attached to the slings! Haven’t tried it to distract her when tired though… might work!
