Taitasi Sunflowers

19 November, 2007 by halfpintpixie

NaBloPoMo – Day 19

taitasiIt’s cold and wet today, but a beautiful sunflower – covered Taitasi toddler mei-tai arrived in the post all the way from Norway. It has considerably brightened up the dull morning.

It’s technically a Christmas present from Mr. Half Pint Pixie, but myself & Littlepixie couldn’t resist trying it out.

The Taitasi has really wide corduroy straps, and is super-comfortable, I understand the difference between baby & toddler mei-tais now, you could easily carry a baby elephant with this one. It might be time to retire the Kozy for a few years (until the next babypixie arrives ;-) )

Isil, got a bit more sleep thankfully, hope you get some tonight.

Mr. Halfpintpixie tried the carrier on and couldn’t believe how comfortable it is either!

Amy, It’ll be Christmas before it gets tried out properly (or maybe our trip to Dublin in two weeks if I’m very good ;) ), but I will let you know, I have read very good reviews and it was recommended by a few friends too, so it sounds like a great carrier. They say you can’t go wrong with the Scandinavian mei-tais! Not cheap though!

What made it more comfy than your Kozy? I teach babywearing classes and sell carriers and I’m always suggesting to people that they try on several different types of mei tais because they all feel different. I haven’t seen a Taitasi before. Do you think it is the length of the straps? The body length/width? It is hard for me to tell from pictures. I love getting a new carrier in the mail, it does brighten my day. :-)

Hi veganlinda, I think it’s a combination of all those things. The straps are very wide & padded so they don’t dig in at your shoulders. The body is a good bit bigger & wider than my kozy too which I think helps with littlepixie’s leg positioning. The straps are insanely long for me, I prefer the kozy length, but I did find them useful for doing a rucksack back carry last week!
