All you US & Canadian readers, take a couple of minutes to pop on over to Ideablob, register & vote for a proposal from the Mother’s Milk Bank of New England. This is the final round of voting, if they win they will receive $10,000. Imagine how much use they could put that to!
Tanya at the Motherwear Breastfeeding Blog says
We’re now competing against seven other ideas, in a round than runs from January 22nd to January 31st.
I’m back asking you to vote again in the final round to help us win these much needed funds. Please take a few seconds today to visit the site below and cast your vote. You’ll be supporting the milk bank’s costs for equipment, a ‘Milk Money Fund,’ and outreach materials.
Go on, vote, the world needs more milk banks, especially non-profit ones. The work they do is so important to so many babies!
Here is their mission statement:
The Mothers’ Milk Bank of New England is a non-profit community milk bank whose mission is to provide donor human milk to newborns in need by: collecting, pasteurizing and dispensing donor human milk; educating the medical and general communities about indications for, benefits and use of donor human milk; and contributing to furthering our knowledge of donor human milk through research.
You can read more about US milk banks here and if you’re in Ireland we have a milk bank up North, which you can read about here.

Thanks again for posting on this!
