Megan at Children need Love gave me an award and said this of my ever so wonderful self (note to self: must activate modesty chip
):
One of the first people to leave a comment on my Children Need Love blog. Also for the help in realising how much one must eat while breastfeeding…and both Half Pint and Isil for getting our family interested into Vegan ways…we’re not there yet but I think we will be in the future!
Here’s the associated small print:
By accepting this Excellent Blog Award, I have to award it to 10 more people whose blogs I find Excellent Award worthy. I can give it to as many people as I want but please award at least 10. Thank you out there for having such great blogs and being such great friends! You deserve this!
If chosen, you agree to the same information above. If chosen, also feel free to award people who have already been awarded…
So, to get awarding… I present to you my 10 people and also a link to my favourite post on their blog so you can get to know them too!
in no particular order…
1) Isil from VeggieWay: Isil’s vegan, she breastfeeds, cosleeps, carries her daughter in a sling, she’s practically my blog-twin and I’m really looking forward to meeting her in real life soon!
Favourite post: Breastfeeding and Sleep because it reminds me of when littlepixie was small and would only sleep in our arms too!

2) Nona at Everyday Yogini: Currently settling in to her new life in Rome, with every post Nona inspires me to be more mindful of the little things in life.
Favourite post: Gratitude Practice Solstice 2007 where she shows us how to see the sunny side of change!

3) Al at This little Piggy had Tofu: First off, the blog name is excellent. I enjoy following his vegan parenting adventures, his daughter is a few months older than littlepixie so it gives me an idea of what’s to come!
Favourite post: My daughter is not a Vegan, in it he describes his daughter as a child of vegan parents, I like that description.

4) Amy from Crunchy Domestic Goddess: Along with some beautiful photos, Amy brings us plenty of inspirational posts on homebirth (including her own amazing story of a footling breech homebirth), extended breastfeeding and green living. Favourite Post: The Circumcision Post Practically no boy babies are circumcised here in Ireland, men cross their legs at the mere mention of the word. But it’s very, very common in America. Which is why it’s great to see parents going against the grain over there and choosing to leave their sons intact. Amy’s post is full of great information for anyone interested in more information.

5) Cristy at Two Peas, No Pod: Vegan, attachment parenting folks down under in Oz. Cristy feels like a part of my online support family, their daughter is a few months younger than littlepixie and we often have similar things going on (like no sleep!). They always have delicious food photos which is often the complete opposite to whatever we’re currently scoffing, we’ll be eating winter stew, they’re having summer salads, excellent!
Favourite post: Feeding all night Reading this post makes me feel like we’re normal, there that are other families like us!

6) Leila at Bilingual Baby: Leila’s a very skilled knitter and her blog often features the cutest creations. And thanks to her current pregnancy cravings, she is posting lots of yummy vegan food pics too. Her daughter is the almost the same age (1 month younger) as littlepixie, and loves cosleeping and being carried too!
Favourite Post: Praise vs less talk I found this post really interesting because we took a similar approach with regard to the radiators in our house. Littlepixie plays with them, hanging clothes on them when they’re cold, but stays away when they’re hot. She holds her little hand close to check if they’re hot before touching them.

7) Megan at Parenting Baby to Sleep: Megan’s blog is full of information on Attachment Parenting, sleep (or lack therof) and gentle parenting practices. I often think of Megan when I’m night-parenting littlepixie. She’s in New Zealand, which means she’s awake at the same time!
Favourite Post: Does smacking lead to a violent society? Food for thought!

8 ) Corin at The Human Pacifier: Corin tackles a lot of the big issues surrounding pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and beyond. Her blog is a fantastic resource for anyone who has an interest in natural birth and the interventions that have become almost a routine part of giving birth in hospitals everywhere. Knowledge is power as they say!
Favourite Post: Toddler Nursing When I first read this post it was everything I needed to hear as littlepixie neared her one year birthday and the weaning questions began. Now I have plenty of answers!

9) Kate at Experiments in Living: Kate’s byline is “Improving my life one habit at a time”. I like it! Her blog has veggie food, sustainable living hints, health info & some posts which inspire me to declutter my house (which can only be a good thing!)
Favourite Post: The Ripple Effect A little tale about getting up on the wrong side of the bed & finding a way to get back on top of everything. A great post to read when you need a little perspective, sometimes a little attitude shift can change the whole day for the better!

10) Hannah at Bittersweet Blog: Yummy vegan food, adorable little knitted creations and the sweetest stories to tie them all together. And this blog is two years old today, happy bloggy birthday!
Favourite Post: Giving Thanks When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When cupcakes sink….. add chocolate!

Please don’t feel pressured into passing this award on, I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s my way of saying thanks to you all for writing your wonderful blogs and helping this vegan, AP mammy feel like she’s part of a worldwide community of like-minded folks

Thank you Pixie. I am very flattered. Now I must go and rack my brains for who to include on my list (or, more correctly, how to limit my list to a manageable size).
Thank you Pixie. I also like feeling like I’m part of a worldwide community. That was the big reason I started blogging… and then I got my cravings and I just can’t stop blogging about what I’m eating.
I’ll have to put some good thought into this award. I feel like so many blogs have helped me along my way.
Oooh, an award! Thank you very much! I’ll have to do some awards of my own this weekend.
Thank you very much Pixie.I’m really touched with your words.
Thank you so much, Pixie! I have to agree that the blogging community is a wonder of amazing people!
BTW, I “marked” you for a meme. Please don’t feel obligated, but it’s a good one, I promise!!
Now, off to think about award speeches…
congratulations to you.
and thank you so much, pixie! what an honor!
Thank you so much! What a super compliment!
