It’s almost time for the Halfpintpixie family trip to London, which has been dubbed the Sci-Fi ExtraVEGANza by Mr. HPP.
Sci-Fi : Because we’re going to Orbital 2008 (Eastercon) in Heathrow and then P-Con in Dublin.
ExtraVEGANza : Wikipedia defines an extravaganza as “an elaborate, spectacular, and expensive theatrical production”. Add in a dash of Vegan to it and you have our holiday in a nutshell!
It is going to be such a fun adventure, 2 cities, 2 sci-fi conventions, 2 planes, 4 hotels (one of which is a 5-star with a spa – a first for the HPP clan), the Tube, trains, buses and lots and lots of walking.
We have the Tettitett and the MaM cover all packed and ready to go! Littlepixie’s favourite, the Rockin’ Baby sling, will be pressed into service for the trains and airport as littlepixie can get up for snuggles and back down to run around easier! Myself and littlepixie will also be meeting a dear cyber-friend and her lovely daughter in London, which we are really looking forward to!
The adventure begins early on Wednesday morning, so I may not be updating this blog for the next fortnight, or I may, who knows! I think some of the hotels have wi-fi so I’ll probably take a few minutes to check in every few days. If anyone else is going to be at Orbital 2008, keep an eye out for us! Happy holidays
