I just excavated two bottles of frozen breastmilk from the back of our freezer. They’re dated. And the date is over a year ago. Oops. I do tend to clean out the freezer more than once a year, but they were being sneaky and hiding.
Anyway, I defrosted it so I could chuck it down the sink and put the bottles in the recycling. I did notice as I poured it down the sink that defrosted year-old EBM doesn’t smell gone off, it’s mad, it smelt grand. Also, it’s hard to believe I’ve been breastfeeding Littlepixie long enough to have forgotten year-old milk in the freezer, time flies, it really does.
Oh, and for you Black Books fans, have you seen The IT Crowd? We’re rewatching some old episodes, so funny
Here’s a peek…

Don’t feel so bad – I have a box of year old bm in my freezer. Little Brooke never did take to drinking it from a bottle or a cup – she much prefers to get it fresh
oh dear,it’d be like pouring gold in the sink, isn’t it.glad that they were still good.
I threw them out anyway Isil, didn’t want to risk it!
