Pretty present in the post

16 January, 2009 by halfpintpixie

I feel crap today, I have an icky cough and my eyes are so bloodshot that they ache, and I am cranky and I’m not sleeping because of my cold and my head hurts and……

Wheeeeeee, the post arrived with a present for me, hoorah! It is my Filiokus Sjaltai that I won in a raffle back in November at the Babywearing Ireland Conference. The Norwegian & Irish postal systems conspired to abduct my original Sjaltai, but the lovely Filiokus maker kindly sent me a new one!

So today while I was being cranky and very mopey, a little ray of sunshine pierced my gloom in the form of this parcel which was wrapped up in brown paper (I love, love, love brown paper parcels)…

Littlepixie is having a “No” day today so she kindly declined my request to help me try out the Sjaltai, so I ran around the house for a while with a teddybear in it. It is really comfy, like a Mei Tai but with wide straps so it looks like a wrap once it’s tied up, you can either tie it like a mei-tai with the straps tight in a twist or spread the wrap straps wide under as another layer over your the baby’s back & bum, snuggly. And it’s got a sleepy-hood too. It’s baby-sized (no I don’t have any news!!) but it’s good and big so I think LP will get a few goes out of it first!

What do you think… isn’t it gorgeous (please excuse the messy tying, the bear was very squishy!)

Yay, that has cheered me up now :)

I hope you feel better soon. That is a beautiful carrier! I’m off to look them up and spend the day drooling over them.
