The view from Square One…

11 July, 2009 by halfpintpixie

Poor Littlepixie has just recovered from a UTI and a round of antibiotics. She had to have a kidney ultrasound yesterday, it’s a standard part of the treatment for a UTI, to rule out any possibility of kidney-related issues, thankfully all was clear and her most recent urine sample was clear too so she seems to be on the mend now, still a wee bit cranky, but who could blame her?!

Needless to say all thoughts of nightweaning were shelved while she was sick so we are now back on Square One and my little creative project is on a go-slow for the moment while she gets cheerier. But it’s not too bad, because we now know that we can do it, nightweaning is possible! We’ll give LP another week or two to get fully better and then if she’s ready, we’ll try and get the nightweaning back up and running.dontyoufeelwellsam

In the meantime, we are reading LP’s favourite book “Don’t you feel well Sam?“, it’s so gorgeous and it makes me feel better about night parenting, I’m just like Mama Bear, I am!

Actually I must do another “Books we love” post soon, we have so many favourites!

Oh, poor wee LP! I’m a long time sufferer and always dreaded my two getting UTIs as I know how awful they are. There’s nothing like breastfeeding for comfort, is there?
    That book looks great!

Aw, poor LP!! I, too, had to do the night weaning twice. After the first time it was interrupted by a nasty cold in conjunction with teething. After a few weeks I started again, and it has been okay for the past couple weeks. Hopefully the second time round will be easier than the first!

So glad she’s feeling better! I think you’re an awesome Mama! :-)
