Esmeralda!

19 July, 2009 by halfpintpixie

My new bike arrived last week, Mr. HPP did an absolutely amazing job of finding me the most fantastic bike ever. I know diddley squat (i.e. nothing) about bikes and he is a bike-commuter-type, so it was a no-brainer when it came to deciding who would do the research for my bike (i.e. not me).

Our bike shop in town never has anything I like, and the money for this bike was a Christmas gift from my parents which has been sitting in my bank account since Christmas 2007, yes 2007, I kid you not. But it has finally been spent and what a bike I have.

Her name is Esmeralda, after the gypsy lady from the Hunchback. Mr.HPP’s bikes always have names so mine needed one too. And here she is…. this photo is from our lovely bike trip this morning…

Actually that photo is already out of date as Mr.HPP attached a rear carrier to the bike after we got back from our trip, and I took LP for a spin in her very swish new bike seat which clips onto the rear carrier, it’s fab, but for now she is still in her weeride seat on the front of Mr. HPP’s bike as it’s easier to keep an eye on her there! I did find it quite easy to cycle with her on the back so I am very pleased with that :) And look at the very funky basket he got me as a present, it is so me! It clips off and you can carry it as a shopping basket. Littlepixie’s toys like to go for trips in it as you might notice!

But I am still not very cycling-fit so I need to take that bike out for a spin every evening I think! Maybe I’ll start next week :)

And just to add, Mr. HPP keeps singing that Wizard of Oz bike music as I cycle, grrr…. ;-)

What a great bike! And I love the ‘basket’! I’m chuckling as I imagine Mr HPP singing the Miss Gulch music!

Sorry I haven’t commented sooner. I’ve been so busy and out of blogdom for a bit…
